5 Gentle Ways to Feel Relief

1. GROUND FOR 5 MINUTES
Find a quiet spot. Breathe in for 4, hold 2, out 6. Repeat 5 times while feeling your feet on the floor.

2. THE NAMING RITUAL
Say the name of the person you lost aloud (or write it). Allow one sentence: "I miss you, and I am safe right now."

3. PERMISSION TO FEEL
Tell yourself: "It is okay to feel this right now." Label the emotion (sadness, anger, fear) and let it be.

4. RECONNECT WITH ONE PERSON
Send one short message to someone you trust: "I could use a quick check-in today — would you be available?"

5. A SMALL CONTINUATION RITUAL
Light a candle, write a 3-line note, or take a 3-minute walk honoring a memory. Small rituals anchor memory without getting stuck.
