Shadows to Light, A Bereavement Support Group - The 8 Week Program
May 4 - June 29, 2026
Boise, Idaho
What are the Benefits to Grief Group Support?
Being Understood by Others
In our grief avoidant culture, we are often given the message, sometimes softly, sometimes loudly…”Get over it!” As a result, we can feel misunderstood and ashamed. Shadows To Light provides you with a kinder truth about how grief can be experienced. You’re a unique soul and every soul experiences the loss of a loved one in their own unique way. Feeling understood can bring down the barriers between you and the world outside.
Giving AND Receiving
While you will receive support and understanding for yourself, there will be a chance to provide that same support to others. The feeling of helplessness and fog can be soothed when you are able to be of service to someone in need of help. Shadows to Light will foster the experience of trusting and being trusted, giving a you a place of sanctuary in the middle of a blowing storm.
Collaborative Solutions
Shadows to Light provides you with a forum to find new ways to approach problems. New perspectives, ideas, and experiences can be a lifeline when you are feeling unable to find solutions to things that are bothering you.
“The Quality and quantity of understanding support you get during your work of mourning will have a major influence on your capacity to heal. You can not - nor should you try to - do it alone. - Alan Wolfelt, “Understanding Your Grief.
